The Most Wonderful Time of the Year!

***Warning: lots and lots of pictures to follow!***

Don't you love Christmas! I really think it is the most wonderful time of the year! I look forward to the holidays the whole year long. I look forward to....

Decorating the tree (I was glad my mom had two to make for ours, since we decided not to put one up because we were gone the whole month of December).

...Playing around in the laundry with baby......naps......family togetherness......playing with mommy......more naps......holding babies......flying with daddy...
...opening presents (and pajamas!)...
...two weeks of vacation and big smiles...
...checking the naughty and nice list...Twice!......playing with cousins......haircuts! (What do you think?).....more big first smiles......more naps......and still more smiles (just can't get enough!)......and more naps (just can't get enough of those, either!)......hanging out with daddy......waving to all our friends......more waving, with daddy this time!......and even more naps!......and family, family, family!
What a wonderful time of year! Hope yours was just as wonderful!

What a Blessing!

Jax's blessing was held the first Sunday in December up in Highland. We love our little Jax and feel so blessed to have him in our home. He brings us so much joy, and we can't imagine life without him anymore. It truly was a blessed day.
JD did such a great job blessing Jax. Everyone commented on how wonderful it was, and a someone in that ward even wrote out the whole blessing for us to keep. What a great surprise!
Here are my grandparents with the two new babies in the Reiber family. Danielle's daughter is about 2 days old here, and Jax is about 2 months. How fun to have two sweet babies to hold and play with all the time up here for Christmas!
This is our little family on the blessing day, all out of our nice Sunday clothes. Jax decided to spoil his cute outfit right when we were taking pictures, so we all had to change...

The Reimschiissel family minus Bryce, Jill, and Justin.

Last but not least, here is the famous 4-generation picture that is tradition on blessing days. :)

We sure love our little Jaxton, and he is getting bigger and stronger every day. We can't believe how fast he is growing up. This time is so special for us and we are glad that so many people could come support us and Jax on his blessing day.

Special Delivery!!

Baby Jaxton is finally here! Jaxton Willy Reimschiissel was born on October 9. He was 6 lbs, 1 oz, and was 18 1/2 inches long. We just love having him here! We have had lots of family come and help in so many ways, which we are so grateful for. Here are a few pictures of our cute little guy.
Here is Dani with Jax.

Daddy's job is to burp him after every feeding.

Jax slept most of his first Halloween. He sure was cute, though!

Jax's first outing was a trip to Zion National Park. Again, he slept the whole time.

Conversations with a studious husband

Okay, I understand that I am totally wasting away here at my house killing time--surfing the web, blog-stalking, all the good stuff. JD meanwhile, is supposed to be studying in the other room, although he seems to get really distracted some days. Today however, this is what he says:

"Ya know Charise, there are lots of things that you could be getting done right now. Things that need to be done. Do you want me to make you a list?"

Me from the computer room: "Nope, I'm good."

JD: "Are you sure? Because If I didn't have to study, I would do the dishes. I also might do the laundry. Maybe I would sand down this door too. Ya know, I think that I might wash off all the vegetables from the garden, too....." (This continues on until I make some groaning noises).

Another good story from today:
Me: "JD, it's late. You could have had all your studying done by now."
JD: "I do have most of my studying done."
Me: "I don't think so. Remember that nap we took around noon? That probably didn't help much. I think that puts you at like 3 or 4 hours today-that's it."
JD: "I'm pretty sure I woke up during my nap and read through my notes, though. So that counts."
Me: "Yep, I bet reading through your notes between sleeping was really effective since you can't even stay awake at the hard table let alone on a soft couch between cat naps..."

The adventures of JD and I alone in a house for 2 months continue.... join us next time for:

"What time is dinner?....."

Dropped off the face of the planet???

Yes, it really has been 3 months since my last update, and a lot has happened. (Sorry!)

Number one:

We've moved! JD and I now live in the St. George area right near my work--walking distance actually. It has been WONDERFUL to not have to commute 2 hours every day. Life is good. We are enjoying the extra space here--we have upgraded to a house with a garage, laundry room, extra bedroom (not for long), and a backyard. We are loving it. There is also a clubhouse with pools, work-out room, and tennis courts. It is nice to go swimming down here since it is already so hot! (P.S. This is my excuse for the lack of blogging: our internet here is very sketchy, and when we have it, it's very slow. So I've been too lazy to spend hours blogging the past few uh..
months.)

Number two:

JD graduated! My sweet, hard-working husband has finally moved on with his bachelor degree in Biology/Zoology from SUU. I am so proud of how hard he worked and his dedication to his studies. He will make a great dentist someday.

Number three:

Speaking of dentist, that's what has been occupying lots of our time recently. JD and I have been working on getting his dental applications done, and boy is it a lot of work! Can you remember every single one of your daily activities since you graduated high school? That's basically what they ask for--plus how each of those activities has helped you and a description of each (in as much detail as you can.) Don't forget every name, date, and address. Whew! Oh, did I mention that to apply to the 16 or so dental school is in the THOUSANDS of dollars? Ouch! Talk about a hit to the wallet. Now we are done with the application though, and on to bigger and better things....more studying!! That brings me to

Number four:

You would have thought that after graduation the studying would be done, right? Wrong. JD's every waking moment is spent studying for the Dental Admissions Test. Yay. He will take that sometime at the end of this month. Hopefully then we can actually have some fun this summer in the beautiful St. George.

Number five:
If you haven't heard it through the grapevine yet, we're expecting! We will be having a little boy at the end of October (hopefully not on Halloween). I am 20 weeks along(4 1/2 months for those who don't get weeks) as of the beginning of this week, and finally starting to show (to people who know me). We are still working on names, so if you have any brilliant ones, send them over this way.

Number six:

School is out, my classroom is clean, and I am bored out of my mind. I don't have much of a husband lately since he is studying every minute of the day, so if you are ever down in the St. George area, PLEASE call! I'd love some company. I'll even take you on a complementary trip to Zion since we have a year-pass...come visit!

I Love to See the Temple

Don't you just love the temple?  Since I can remember, the temple has been my favorite thing, and I learned as much as I could about it before I could actually go inside.  And you really think it is wonderful and beautiful while you learn about it and see the amazing architecture, until you get to go inside--then it is even better than you expected.  What wonderful ordinances happen there, and what a special spirit I feel when I go there.  JD and I went just yesterday to the temple to see his sister and her family be sealed to their new little adopted son.  It was such a neat experience to be there with them and their families.  What a special experience to be able to have with a new little baby.  Here are JD and in at some of the temples we have been to.  I love the temple!

This is what happens... when we TRIP!

The secrets out!  The reason I take pictures on vacation is not necessarily to remember where we went and what we saw, it’s because I have an excuse to take pictures of JD and I together without him giving me “the moan”… yeah, you know the one.  The “Why do we have to take a picture!” So here are my triumphant photos from our trip:

So here is successful picture no. one...

We hung out in Vegas for a day as a mini-vacation, which was unexpectedly followed by a longer, much further away vacation, but still fun.

                  Success no. two...
And three…

Here comes four…

Five…

And six…

Wait, wait, there’s seven…

And eight minus one set of closed eyes…

Pretty successful trip if you ask me.  Great pictures, great time, Success!
